The summer of 2023 will be remembered for record breaking heat, apocalyptic wildfires, and severe storms forever changing the equation of life on planet Earth while challenging emotions.

The scale of destruction wrought by the wildfires that swept across Maui earlier this week continues to come into focus. Thousands of people were evacuated off the island - some with serious injuries - as the death toll rises.
Videos and images of people jumping into the water to escape death will be hard to forget. Survivors continue to share stories of an event seemingly surreal - that has left thousands homeless. Celebrities - such as Oprah and Dwayne Johnson - who own properties and businesses on the island - are shown helping the victims.
Oprah has brought hope and inspiration to survivors. As I watched her on the news Monday night she said, "A lot of Phoenix stories are rising from the ashes here". This reminded me of this photo I took last week from my terrace - referring to it as the Phoenix.

How does one come back from the devastation and loss? It's never easy. Across the world people are dealing with apocalyptic events as climate change accelerates exponentially - not for any reason other than that is what's programmed.
For decades people told me that if you are spiritual - ceremonies, prayers, lead an honest life, believe and worship talisman and other objects linked to ancient times and/or mythological gods, etc. - you will always be protected. That doctrine was a tool that kept people moving forward or they wouldn't keep moving at all. It's called Hope - the built-in mechanism/emotion that guides humanity. The truth is all events happen as they are programed in one's destiny.
Sooner or later people everywhere have to face the fact that planet Earth will not be sustainable much longer. Call it the cycles of time or however you define it. At the end of the day we are here to experience the end. Civilizations (inserts), experiences (inserts) and experiencers (inserts) come and go as you know ... until the experiment is over.
