Job Burnout

December 2004

All jobs eventually result in burn-out. Are you at that point?

If you are starting a new career in 2005, look around at others in that career and see how long they remain there without burnout.

While in Connecticut for Christmas, I met a 24 year old woman, college graduate, who has worked as a stock broker for 2 years. She told me that she is already burned out. In 2005 she will switch to a 'right-brained', creative career, returning to school, the Parson School of Design in NYC. She probably took the job for all the wrong reasons, and now must start again which always involves school or job training.

Most people have more than one job or career in a lifetime as lifestyles and experiences change.

On a side note, this is also true of the partners and love relationships. Few things remain on solid ground as reality rides the waves of the collective unconsciousness, which one day must rise as giant tsunami. Reality is like riding a giant wave which is trying to shake you loose from the grasp of the planetary grid. Consciousness is mirroring the planetary grid, or is it the other way around?
