The First Domino

New York judge finds Donald Trump liable for fraud
  CNN - September 27, 2023

I have watched NY Attorney General Letitia James in her civil battle against Trump for years and have always hoped she would beat him at his own game ... Money. James has accused Trump of overvaluing his holdings by as much as $2.2 billion. Tuesday she won a major victory in her civil case against Trump when a New York judge determined that the former president fraudulently inflated the value of his assets to obtain favorable loans and insurance deals.

A New York judge found Donald Trump and his adult sons liable for fraud and canceled the Trump Organization's business certification, a shocking ruling that poses an existential threat to the former president's financial empire as he runs for a second term in the White House.

The decision by Justice Arthur F. Engoron precedes a trial that is scheduled to begin Monday, and will considerably smooth Attorney General Letitia James' path forward as she seeks a penalty of about $250 million in damages, a ban on the Trumps from serving as officers of a business in New York and to stop the company from engaging in business transactions for five years.

The decision narrows the issues that will be heard, effectively deciding that the trial was not necessary to find that Mr. Trump was liable and that the core of Ms. James' case was valid. It represents a major blow to Trump, whose lawyers had sought to persuade the judge to throw out many of the claims against the former president. In his order, Justice Engoron wrote scathingly about Mr. Trump's defenses, saying that the former president and the other defendants, including his two adult sons and his company, ignored reality when it suited their business needs.

As storms raged in the city the past few days - both political and environmental - I spent time at home watching another brave woman, Cassidy Hutchinson, tell her story to Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell and Jake Tapper - among others along the way as she promotes her new book "Enough".

People always seek to 'make a difference' which goes along with time and circumstance and the way one is programmed to alter reality. ... Enter Cassidy Hutchinson the brave young woman in the white blazer who seems to have been the first domino - in a long line of people and events - who publicly turned the tides on Donald Trump and his regime. When politicians and others were afraid to speak the truth for fear of retribution from Trump and his allies - somebody had to stand up and defend the Constitution. You may recall her testimony on June 28, 2022 at the public hearings of the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.

Hutchinson's messages are not new: Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy, in our lifetime, and potentially in American history. Should he be reelected he will pick up where he left off on January 6, 2021 having no guardrails. His violations of the Constitution after he lost the election in 2020 should disqualify him from the White House.

Trump knows he lost the election yet is guided on - not just by his programming - but to keep him out of jail and to seek revenge on those he sees as his enemies. As with most mentally ill people - Trump thrives on drama - life is boring without it. His game is criminal activity and his ability to avoid being held accountable. Aimlessly he moves through this chapter of his life - guided by his emotions and childhood insecurities - following the same patterns he has lived by for the past 77 years. Alas, all programming comes to an end. Interesting insert and distraction in the simulation. Downfall - the final domino imminent.

As I blogged before - Trump's destiny keeps him locked in litigations and perhaps behind bars for the rest of his life.

Politics today is like watching a game where the good guys don't always win - because as we know - in our bipolar reality - there will always be drama ... Reset.

With Trump's little regard for women - it is interesting that much of his downfall is not just brought by his actions but by the strength and fortitude of women.

Once the first domino falls - there's no going back.

The First Domino in the Georgia Case

Friday September 29, 2023

In more good news Trump co-defendant Scott Hall pleaded guilty in the Georgia election interference case that requires him to testify against others. Of the remaining 18 co-defendants - others will also flip. It's just a matter of time and time is running out.
