November 23, 2023 - Thanksgiving in the US

Holidays take us to traditions especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm a 'holiday person' who loves the feelings one gets during the holiday seasons.

New York City always seems to be a special place to enjoy holidays with family and friends and everything that the city has to offer from our annual Thanksgiving Day Parade to other events that continue into the new year.

I watch holiday movies on Hallmark and Lifetime wondering what it would be like to live in a small town becoming part of the celebrations that are portrayed in the recycled storylines they present every year - with emphasis on love, forgiveness, and happily ever after.

I know we don't live in a Hallmark world but it's nice to experience whatever emotions they awaken as a segue to deal with issues and channel creative projects in the new year.

My family has always had holiday traditions - Thanksgiving hosted by me when my children were young - now by my daughter Zsia in New Jersey as family and friends join together each year. The best part of being together is the food and sharing stories with children, grandchildren, extended family and others who show up even though we talk to each other all the time.

I really don't want to blog about how fearful, anxiety ridden, and dysfunctional the world has become because you know it, see it, experience it, and since we're programmed for emotions - feel it.

We know that each year is bringing greater challenges and changes as you find your place in it.

Many people tell me that this year has flown by - others tell me it is going too slow. Programming and perspective...

So here we are at Thanksgiving 2023. I don't have to tell you to travel carefully or how to behave wherever you go.

If you want to think about the things you're grateful for - then you should. I do it every night as I watch the sun set.

You don't have to look at how broken the world is - and feel any sort of guilt about being happy.

Don't make this a philosophical, metaphysical, or overly emotional experience. Just have fun!

It's All About Families and the Journey of the Bloodline

Some families are being torn apart by war while others are enjoying love and connectedness while embracing the release of the first hostages in the Israeli-Hamas War. This year will be remembered both on a personal level and for the Israeli-Hamas War hostage exchanges.

Abigail Edan

Sunday four-year-old Abigail Edan became the first American freed by Hamas. Abigail is a symbolic reminder of October 7, 2023 - the day Hamas attacked Israel and everything changed forever.
