Sunset - The Movable Feast

Monday July 25, 2022

After the Summer Solstice - as the days get shorter - the sunsets get more dramatic. Every night brings a new panorama from my home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn that overlooks the Verrazano Bridge all the way around to lower Manhattan and the Freedom Tower.

Tonight I took this pic because the sky looked like a movable feast. What caught my attention was the way the pink-purple clouds drifted southwest towards the Verrazano Bridge ... along the way crossing paths with the dark clouds moving north towards Manhattan.

What caught my attention was the way the pink-purple clouds were drifting southwest towards the Verrazano Bridge - along the way crossing paths with the dark clouds moving north towards Manhattan. I had never seen clouds move in opposite directions like that.

Before I got my camera the pink-purple clouds were lower in the sky so they appeared to be crossing paths at a better angle as I watched ...

As the sunset dissolved into darkness ... it was time for some Zzzzzz....
