Friday had record-setting rain followed by a cloudy Saturday ... but Sunday was perfection. Off I went in the late morning to do some quick shopping only to discover the streets were closed due to the annual Bay Ridge Third Avenue Street Festival. I had forgotten about it because I hadn't been there in years and most people thought it was canceled due to weather.
I drove home then took a car service back to Third Avenue and started to walk along what are usually crowded streets but not so much today. They may have filled up after I left at 3:30 to watch the end of the Bills game.
Here are few pics I took along the way - rides for the kids, vendors, games, music, lots of food and drink for all. I walked along until I saw a sign that read Zeppoli. Yeah! I didn't eat or buy anything. I was there for the zeppoli and to have fun and so I did. I met a few clients from Bensonhurst and Staten Island. Hilarious people with that heavy John Travolta Brooklyn accent from Saturday Night Fever.
The first boy I ever kissed was named Eddie. He was sexy in an Elvis sort of way. I was 14, Eddie, 15. Shortly after that his family moved and I never saw him again. You never forget your first kiss. Today I met another Eddie. Surprisingly Eddie the DJ kissed me and let me play with his equipment (music that is).
