House expels GOP Rep. George Santos over ethics violations   CNN - December 1, 2023
There are enough similarities between Santos and Donald Trump that makes you wonder how they got elected and remained in office as long as they did. It's the insanity factor, combined with surrealism, and the simulation's programming that keeps people embroiled in the art of politics. Combine that with power and financial gain and there you have it.
George Anthony Devolder Santos Pinocchio-ed his way into Congress as a Republican Congressman from Long Island, NY whose litany of fabrications and crimes will continue to unfold after expulsion.
Like Trump, Santos was the butt of many jokes for late night talk show hosts, SNL, stand-up comics, and people in general.
In other words they are 'distractions' becoming memorable characters in the history of American politics.
Is society a reflection of politics or is politics a reflection of society? In our bipolar reality, I would say it goes both ways.
What’s Next for George Santos?   NY Times- December 2, 2023
The expulsion of George Santos from the House on Friday, after a year shaped by audacious lies and outright frauds, ended his 11-month congressional tenure. But as he stormed off Capitol Hill, Mr. Santos made abundantly clear that he had no intention of returning to obscurity. Naysa Woomer, his former communications director who resigned in May, described him as someone who was more interested in being a celebrity than a lawmaker. Santos faces 23 felony charges, ranging from identity theft to wire fraud, and up to 22 years in federal prison. He has pleaded not guilty on all counts. A trial date has been set for September 2024 on Long Island if Santos does not reach a plea deal with prosecutors first. His next court date is Dec. 12.
