Extreme tourism (also often referred to as shock tourism, although both concepts do not appear strictly similar) is a niche in the tourism industry involving travel to dangerous places (mountains, jungles, deserts, caves, canyons, etc.) or participation in dangerous events. The investigation continues into the titan submersible incident. To journey to the bottom of the sea in this uncertified craft - speaks to someone who hasn't thought things through or perhaps has a death wish or is a thrill seeker, or to witness an historic event frozen in time.
I never understood all the emphasis placed on the storyline of the original Titanic - so risking one's life on a fool's errand seems senseless to me.
If past lives are your thing - perhaps some of these souls were part of the original storyline - drowning at sea in 1912.
