This year was the best Oscar show I've seen in a long time though I admit to fast forwarding many of the segments the next day. There were no onstage dramas as current issues were tastefully addressed. Oscar winners and presenters paid tribute to #MeToo and related movements, rallied for racial diversity and pushed for gender equality at home in the work place. And so ended another Oscar presentation - glitz and all. Congratulations to all the winners.

After Oscar Dramas: A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing Frances McDormand's Oscar after the awards ceremony on Sunday. Los Angeles Police have confirmed Terry Bryant was arrested for grand theft, after the statuette went missing from the Governor's Ball. The 47-year old was booked and has had bail set at $20,000 . He will attend court at a future date. The statue has since been returned to the best actress winner. McDormand had already had her name engraved on the statue at the ball before it went missing. The actress was celebrating her win of the award for best actress for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
