Due to Tropical Storm Ophelia - ocean liners normally headed out to sea had to wait in line for safe passage. The flashing lights coming from the various decks of the ship was pointed in my direction as I was taking pictures of them. The Emerald Princess finally set sail 8:15am Sunday morning.
There is something about the ships waiting in line to sail away from the city that reminds me of the thousands of migrants arriving here every day having nowhere to go when the city has little-to-no resources to take care of them. According to the mayor and the governor, the federal government is not doing much to help.
How many times have I blogged about an overrun of migrants across the country - people trying to overcome life's challenges - others perhaps having more detrimental agendas. Desperate people often resort to desperate measures. This is another scenario that is not going to end well.
Be careful and don't take anyone in out of the goodness of your heart because it only creates more dramas and in this reality we are trying to get rid of the people who are toxic or non-functioning in our lives.
Don't reference back to the days your family were immigrants because they did not have it easy at all. Most struggled. Some were lucky and programmed for success, but that is not the norm in our bipolar reality built on dramas.
