This week the New York Times featured a profile piece about Tim Victor, a man who lives in my building. How a Brooklyn Fashionista Lives on $67,000 a Year in Bay Ridge

Tim and I have known each other for years - always stopping to talk about this and that. Tim stands out in the crowd for several reasons - his height at 6'3" - often appearing taller with his hair tucked into some sort of head piece, his flamboyant gay appearance, and simply the fact that he is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. You can't help but recognize that he is somehow involved in the entertainment industry when you first see him. See pics on Instagram.

In my many years in the fields of metaphysics and sometimes entertainment - I have developed an infinity for flaming gay men. It's kind of a giggling thing with openness and honesty. Someone once told me that every straight woman needs a gay male friend. I agree.

Tim works as a music teacher in Brooklyn and goes thrift shopping and to fashion shows in New York and Paris. As I started to read the NYT story, the pieces came together for me that this is my friend from the building - the man who stands out in the crowd and is exceptionally charismatic and positive.

From the pics in the article - I recognized Tim's studio apartment. As you look at the picture of him walking down 4th Avenue, there's a red brick building on the left. The next building, walking towards the bridge, is home. I'm hoping that this article helps Tim pursue his careers outside of teaching. Good luck Tim.
