Showdown in Motown

Friday March 5, 2016

Politics once again is the big story. Last night was a show-down in Motown as I watched some of the debate finishing the last half hour this morning. It was a mixed bag of serious, silly, and surreal, as front-runner Donald Trump - who earlier in the day withstood attacks from the party's last two presidential candidates, Mitt Romney and John McCain - fended off rivals Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio as well as the moderators who challenged his inconsistencies from the past. I was happy to see Kasich express his strategies in the midst of the chaos. Kasich will stay in the race at least through the primaries in Ohio, March 15th which will determine the fate of Rubio as well. This weekend, both parties hold caucuses in Kansas and Maine, and a primary in Louisiana. Republicans will hold caucuses in Kentucky and a primary in Puerto Rico, while Democrats caucus in Nebraska.

At the end of the day, Hillary could wind up in jail - depending on how many people are fixing things for her - which represents the corruption that has existed in politics from the beginning. And the beat goes on ...

What deal did Hillary make with Obama back in 2008?

Do Opposites Attract?

They say opposites attract. Could that have to do with their astrological charts, something else, or could that be wrong? New research provides evidence that partners are more similar in psychiatric status than chance would predict. The idea that opposites attract may seem to hold true often enough, but it is definitely not the whole story. When it comes to choosing a partner, people actually tend to pair up with those similar to them, in qualities ranging from height and weight to education, income and personality. In other words people seek someone who a reflection of them - their grids for experience aligning. I've blogged ... endlessly ... about people with emotional problems seeking someone with the same conditions to help and heal each other and eventually, if possible, create understanding, before one or both burn out.

Chemistry in any physical relationship doesn't always work that way. I've read women who married very normal productive males, have a great life and family, yet always felt something was missing. They have created a "safe" experience. Years later ... enter the man who has all sorts of challenges from ADD to emotional problems and substance-abuse issues, but the chemistry between them is very powerful. A torrid affair ensues. The woman comes to me to help her make a decision by projecting her future timelines to see how things will play out. Should she leave the security of her home to go off with her lover or should she stay? Some women stay - others leave - especially if the man is on the same metaphysical journey. Generally the affair is the person who opens one's heart which I call a transition person.

Women and men, straight or gay, seeking a spiritual high, get caught up in the catalyzing energy of the moment and tend to forget that their partner is also on a spiritual journey to help heal their own issues. More often than not my client has opened their heart determined to leave the safe relationship only to discover the new partners' issues and need to find purpose will get in the way. Eventually they go separate ways in the telenovelas of the hologram. Will their relationship get renewed for another season? It's all about sponsors, programming, and the movement of consciousness.

The Democratic and Republican frontrunners racked up wins and delegates as each consolidated a lead. This was all predicted and came as no surprise though I was hoping Trump would do better so we could get rid of Rubio. Trump lost states he was expected to win and saw his margin of victory slip below what polls had predicted in others.

Last night, with Chris Christie and his son Eric at his side, Donald Trump took the stage at Mar-a-Lago and showed us a side of him I hope those guiding his candidacy will continue to reinforce and that is acting the role of the political statesman. Trump was restrained and complemented Cruz. If Trump can sustain this temperament until March 15 ... that's all he has to do to win. As with the patterns we all experience in our lives, Trump is used to the big battle. Perhaps now - as he leads the other candidates - he will show us a more dignified side of himself and stay that way. I know what you're think ... old habits (patterns) die hard and he has many battles ahead.

Ted Cruz is encouraging some of the other candidates to drop out so he can beat Trump but it doesn't appear they will. He should also consider those voters may side with Trump. So far, division among Republicans has served Trump well. I watch MSNBC for all things political. Monday night Trump joked about the ongoing debates and he wished they were over. He mimicked the behavior of Rubio and Cruz behind the scenes as if plotting against him like children. For now it appears there will be more of the same. We move to the next debate tomorrow night as the battles rage on.

In the Sanders versus Clinton battle - Hillary is now confident she will be the next candidate ... but be careful Hillary. Your current legal predicaments caused by email misconduct are just beginning and far from over. Having raised millions of dollars Sanders is still a viable candidate.

Welcome to March Madness - and I'm not just referring to college basketball. Today will be a deal breaker for many candidates especially in the Republican Party. Will Trump lock up the election? How about Hillary? Nearly half the delegates for the Republican nomination are at stake. Trump could all but secure his path to the nomination today thanks to rules drawn up by the Republican Party to allow a front-runner to clinch it quickly. Intentional or not, his candidacy is resonating with voters.

The Democratic Party needs someone who has the clout to at least try to take down Trump which takes us to Hillary - on her OCD quest since Bill was in office - to run the world. Today a third of the delegates needed are up for grabs. Unless she's brought up on charges - it's Hillary versus Trump in November. You don't have to be psychic to figure that out.

As of late I have discussed the election with friends and family - and like him or not - Trump seems like the only person who will use of all his energies to turn the country around. This is going to be a very rough battle for him as conservative Republicans want to hold on to the old ways in the second Civil War - or Political Revolution - taking place. FYI: Our second Republican favorite - and hopefully VP should Trump not survive in office - is John Kasich.

I listened to Trump last night on MSNBC at a rally in Georgia and connected. He joked about the ongoing debates and that he wishes they were over. FYI: Of course he is not a white supremacist. Trump's son Eric was also interviewed which was the first time I had heard him speak about the election. There's something about Eric that I really liked. Ivanka would turn out to be Trump's female voice - his wife Melania remaining in the background. I wouldn't be surprised if they separated - legally or not - or divorced - should Trump become president. This is not about other women it's just that she's not a 'first lady' - she doesn't have it in her. Melania likes older powerful men. Bill likes younger woman. They only lives about 30 minutes apart. The Trumps (depending on which wife we are referring to) and Clintons have been friends for years. Hey ... weirder things have happened as of late.

In an experience based on duality
opposing forces are merging to create something better
even if we have to leave this reality to find it.
