Walking along 3rd Avenue around noon today, my attention, as well as that of other people, was riveted by the sound of a thunderous roar overhead.

Twenty-five years after witnessing a plane hit the North Tower on 9/11, it makes you pause, wonder, and for a second connecting the dots from that moment to this - to determine if there is a threat. Today, the US has many enemies, both foreign and domestic - exacerbated by the current administration.

We looked up to see unknown jet fighters overhead headed north towards Manhattan. I suggested to a man sitting at an outdoor cafe that it might have something to do with the U.S. military removing bombers from U.K. air base following a security incident on Sunday but he didn't think so.

For another second what came to mind was the international incident last week aboard a FlyDubai flight 1073 bound for Israel, where the co-pilot violently attacked the captain with a cockpit axe in an attempt to crash the aircraft, but was apprehended by several of the passengers.

It makes me wonder what my soul is expecting to happen in the near future - processing past, present, and future incidents faster than a jet fighter.

Consciousness lies only partly in physical reality and mostly in the grids that create everything. Hmmm...

When I got home, an Internet search reported this.

The aircraft you saw flying over New York City today were F/A-18 fighter jets, not U.S. bombers. According to alerts from local officials, a pre-scheduled military flight path brought several fighter jets directly over the local waterways. The formation crossed over the Verrazano Bridge and traveled up the Hudson River toward the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. The movement was an official, planned flyover coordinated with New York City Emergency Management.
