Dali, a Singapore-flagged container ship collided with one of the Francis_Scott Key Bridge pillars leading to a catastrophic collapse of the entire structure. The ship warned of a possible collision in a mayday call, prompting traffic to stop in both directions moments before the bridge collapsed - saving lives. The collapse halted the flow of ships in and out of Baltimore and could hurt the local economy, strain supply chains and scramble deliveries along the US East Coast.
