I woke up this morning grateful for all that I have in this mad-cap world that is cycling down. My first compute stop every morning is the Astronomy Picture of the Day - today featuring a "Sun Rose" in one of my favorite colors as if a birthday present. My birthday plans have been rescheduled as snow takes center stage, the sounds of sanitation workers cleaning the streets, echoing below. It will take months for the pothole crews to repair the damage, but enough about the weather.

David gave me a great present. X-Files to return with Mulder and Scully. Though the X-Files invasion date of December 12, 2012 has passed, there is so much more they can do with the show. David was also promoting his new book, Holy Cow - genre - fiction, satire. "Holy Cow" lightly touches on big ideas such as religion and tolerance. But, at its heart, this is a silly, charming story about growing up.
Speaking of UFO's, look what my UFO friend Harold sent me for my birthday ... a picture of us in my 9 foot pyramid. Note the date ... October 14, 1989 which was a transition year in the hologram. It was the year of the big MUFON conference in Vegas as the truth was beginning to take shape in the magical world of UFOlogy. Were you there?
This is indeed a week of holidays and celebration around the city. Fashion Week always sets the city on fire. Saturday Night Live icons celebrated the show's 40th anniversary in style. Jimmy Fallon, formerly of SNL celebrated hist first anniversary as host of The Tonight Show.
Speaking of sports - my grandson Matthew got to see the NBA All-Star Game warmups Saturday afternoon at MSG (Madison Square Garden).
