May 1, 2011

May 1 is May Day. There was lots in the news about declining economic conditions around the world highlighted in Spain with 21.3% unemployment.

In Europe people celebrated Beltane.

In Rome, the late Pope John Paul II was beatified.

It was the 160th anniversary of the first World's Fair.

The Empire State Building celebrated its 80th anniversary.

By the end of the day, and into the early morning hours, news would come about the death of Osama bin Laden another marker that changes the face of reality and brings us once step closer to the end.

The day was cool and pleasant here in New York City, perfect for the NYC Five Boro Bike Tour. As I do each year, I went to the park across the street, this time with a client named Kristin, to meet people from all over the world.

Something new in 2011 ... the water goes from the fire hydrant through the white hose to refill the blue jars.

These people came from upstate NY. They wore pinwheel hats to better locate each other.
They reminded me of the hats from the Royal Wedding.
