Virgo Transition 2010

Every August, as the sun enters Virgo, I blog about this being the biggest transition time of the year. It's a time of hopes and dreams and a feeling of something new about to take hold. Hope is the name of the game, especially in a bad economy when fractured grids bring fractured experiences - especially in 2010 as Mercury is Retrograde in Virgo. People go off to school, relocate, begin careers/jobs, relationships begin or end, people decide to work on themselves, to plan a better future, among the endless things that are about to be born within the energies of Labor Day and the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

Something feels different this year, though I'm not sure what it is. It's not foreboding like 2001 just before 9/11, more like the old value of Virgo in the equation has shifted.

Virgo is the concept of the grid: as armature, as classification system, and ultimately, as the woven fabric of human reality itself -- woof of matter and warp of consciousness. Virgo is the natural process of unfoldment along determinative patterns, the interplay of timeless abstraction (logic, mathematics) and temporal developments (organism, culture). The grid of Virgo quietly underlies the wildest tendrils of nature as under the statisticianŐs strict bell curve teeming reality flourishes.
