New evidence that optimists live longer is obvious and something you should have figured out. People who suffer from one or more mental illnesses - usually depression and anxiety - spent much of their energies trying to figure how to function, find love, and usually burn out - body, mind, and soul - until they cross over after illness or an accident. In truth the human emotional package is very poorly designed but I suppose that is the algorithm whether we like it or not. It's all about your DNA family codes and programming.

I am never depressed nor have ever experienced anxiety unless merging with the grid of a client during a reading. Luckily I don't need meds or metaphysical help to keep me going. They are just bandaids for a lifetime of stress and often confusion, denial and placing a cure outside of one's programming.

The lady in this pic looks happy but that's not what I see in her soul. She is trying so let's give her credit for that. Nature. Meditation. Energy work. Healthy diet. Shedding bad relationships. Ah ... to do a reading on her - especially about love.

The article is wrong when it states that we can control important outcomes. Not so, because there is no free will, but if you need to keep believing that go for it while observing how the world is evolving. If you are one of the lucky people who don't deal with many challenges that's because you're programmed that way. This applies to everything in your experience and destiny including your intuitive abilities and relationships.

Optimism refers to a general expectation that good things will happen, or believing that the future will be favorable because we can control important outcomes. Whereas research has identified many risk factors that increase the likelihood of diseases and premature death, much less is known about positive psychosocial factors that can promote healthy aging.
