You never know when the power grid will go down which is why you need to keep cash at home (credit cards won't work), your car filled with gas, and other supplies just in case. Most people living on planet Earth have figured out climate change is here to stay - extreme weather patterns part of our simulation's closure - flood stories, ice ages and other mythological tales we attribute to Earth's history - just stories set in time to make sense of the past and understand the future. I remember teaching about end times - from ongoing global pandemics creating economic strife - to the climates of politics and systemic social frustration.

Everything is broken and people who think they are fixing things most often are making them worse. We are programmed for drama. Our prime directive is to make things better if possible - but almost everything we do sets up another set of fractured events - that is the algorithm of life in physical reality.
