My family and I have always been into cars whether they are classics from the past - or concept cars of the future - from gas driven to electric. My son-in-law Ryan owns Land Rover Fairfield which also features Range Rovers.

When I was growing up, I knew the make and model of every car - which at that time were predominantly American brands. Today I prefer a gas driven car over electric but that's just my opinion.

Held each year at the iconic Jacob Javits Convention Center - the show features floors of vehicles to the delight of visitors young and old. It transforms the space into a futuristic landscape of sleek designs, cutting-edge technology, and bold visions of tomorrow.

From electric vehicles redefining sustainability to luxury models pushing the boundaries of comfort and performance, the show captures the evolving relationship between people and machines - which if taken to the next - includes artificial intelligence (AI).

For some the classic cars of the past are a journey back in time replete with a lifetime of memories.

From nostalgic moments to thoughts about careers in the auto industry - the day is inspiring as vehicles (a metaphor for a life path) drive home points and emotions.

The Auto Show offers a glimpse at a new roadmap at a time when chaos brings uncertainty at every turn - and Trump's war with Iran creates rising gas prices not just within the auto industry but other forms of mass transportation.

Like the vehicles on display - we are all navigating journeys - guided by our personal GPS - while adjusting course and accelerating toward a final destination (designation).
