Labor Day 2014: Economy and Education

The best way to get a job is to know someone who can help you no matter what your level of education. There are souls who are programmed to find a job on their own and others who are incapable of seeking employment and must be given a job - and then there are those who can't work at all. From High School on, education should be career oriented.

In the changing face of today's global economy, most education systems are not preparing students to go out and find a job once their education is completed. Just as we constantly reinvent ourselves, so too must education be reinvented to correspond with the needs of today's students.

The food industry is trendy these days with people seeking health and fitness - the rules forever changing to that end.

Today I drove around Brooklyn with a psychic friend and discovered that many businesses have now closed including the restaurant/catering hall in my building Lai Yuen. My apartment is the top corner, above the former two-story restaurant. Another friend later told me that everyone she knows starting out in the restaurant business, closes within two years.

Back to College -- The Only Gateway to the Middle Class   Huffington Post - September 1, 2014
This week, millions of young people head to college and universities, aiming for a four-year liberal arts degree. They assume that degree is the only gateway to the American middle class. It shouldn't be. For one thing, a four-year liberal arts degree is hugely expensive. Too many young people graduate laden with debts that take years if not decades to pay off. And too many of them can't find good jobs when they graduate, in any event. So they have to settle for jobs that don't require four years of college. They end up overqualified for the work they do, and underwhelmed by it.

Even when these young people finally do get jobs, the positions are often part time, low wage or not related to their career interests. The problem isn't the quality of higher education in the United States, so what's missing?

Fade to Black Experience

Questions that stir souls now more that ever: "Why am I here?" "How can I help and heal in a large-scale way and make a living doing it?" "When is the hologram going to end?" One of my recent clients, a woman in her 50's who studies metaphysics and was born in Transylvania, dreamed she climbed to the top of a mountain to find the answers. When she got there ... and looked out ... everything faded to black. Many people have had the Fade to Black Experience whether they understand the nature of reality as a hologram or not.
