Meeting Harold

Wednesday afternoon June 23, 2010

I wasn't supposed to be out running errands, but something told me to go. As I stopped at a traffic light on 3rd Avenue, who should coming walking by but my friend Harold Egeln, the UFO researcher who lives in my neighborhood, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. We hadn't seen each other for several years so perhaps it was fate that created this synchronicity.

I lowered the car window as Harold approached. He looked me straight in the eye as simultaneously we both said, "Well, it's almost over," a knowing between us. "It's been interesting," I said. "Yes, it has," he replied. "And now we've come to the end." We smiled in a way that connects beyond time and space. Plans were made to meet for lunch in July to continue our connection.

As I drove away, I turned on the car radio to listen to the news. The announcer was talking about a 5.0 earthquake in Canada that was felt in downtown Brooklyn where office workers were evacuated from buildings ... message received.
