7 takeaways from election night 2018
CNN - November 7, 2018

A blue wave ended one-party rule in Washington after months of disciplined campaigning by Democrats and the transformation of the Republican Party into the party of President Trump. Democrats claimed the House of Representatives with at least 31 new seats, and the Senate will remain in Republican hands. Democrats also flipped at least seven governorships, including the long-conservative capitals in Wisconsin and Kansas. Trump further threatened to adopt a 'warlike posture' if Democrats used their new power to investigate his financial and political dealings.

In 2017 I met New York Senator Marty Golden when he was campaigning in the park across the street. Golden is a Republican who just lost to Andrew Gounardes in another hotly contested close race. Though I liked Marty, I voted Democratic. Personally I think politics sucks.
